Just one night to go until our adventure begins!

We started the day with a lovely brunch, we love brunch. The kids set up the table, which was very sweet, and their excitement is almost contagious. Tomorrow we are leaving!
Right now it feels especially beautiful at our house. Spring is slowly arriving, and over the past few days I have become much more aware of our surroundings. The small river next to our house is flowing and splashing again as the snow melts. Birds are singing softly, and you can feel nature slowly waking up after winter.
After brunch we packed the car. I actually had to repack a few times because the schoolbooks we are bringing with us, although there aren’t that many, are surprisingly heavy. In the end, I had to carefully distribute them across several bags.
Once everything was finally sorted (and after leaving a few extra reading books behind), we started our drive to Zürich.
During the drive the kids created a song playlist. The very first song they chose was “Du Bisch dr gailscht Kanton vur Welt,” a song about the mountains of Graubünden and the feeling of belonging to the “Bündner Berge.”
Suddenly the car was filled with the sound of home.
I thought it was incredibly sweet. Even though the children are so excited about the adventure ahead of us, home is still home. That moment really touched me.
I have to admit that I feel a little nervous too. I hope this journey will meet all our hopes — that we will have an incredible time together, fill our hearts with new experiences, learn so much, broaden our perspectives, appreciate our beautiful life even more, and return with our batteries fully recharged.
Let’s see what this adventure will bring.
Tomorrow evening we will share our first impressions of Kenya.
Tomorrow we are leaving for 88 days in Kenya.
